Sonja allowed me to purchase (another) new camera! I was having so much fun with my Fuji X-E1, but it was such a hassle to continuously having to change lenses, so Sonja suggested that I should get the camera I originally was going for but could not bring myself up to buy due to its quite high price. So here are the first results from my brand new
Fuji X-T1! I love this camera! So intuitive and easy to use, very light weight, but still shooting fantastic photos! What a great start into 2015!

ReplyDeleteOf course! Although at least the X-E1 has some problems in case of movements during the shot (you get "ghosts"). I did not try this function in detail on the X-T1 yet.

DeleteCongrats Roland, nice shots! I fully understand that you are having fun with your Fuji cameras. Although I love my/our Canon 40D, especially with the 70-300mm telephoto lens, hubby was so nice to lend me his Fuji X-E2 including three lenses (14mm, 35mm and 18-55mm) for my 6-weeks/20-states trip last fall. I wanted some lighter and less obtrusive camera gear without limiting myself in terms of technical options. And the Fuji was exactly what I needed. Looking forward to many more picts you shoot.
ReplyDeleteThe Fujis are so small that I can fit both of them - including lens! - into my small photo bag that again fits perfectly under the seat of my Vespa! How cool is that? Plus: even with both cameras hanging from my neck I do not tend to fall over. Now I just need to learn to shoot some proper photos...
DeleteThis IS very cool! There are two things however where the Fujis feel limiting, at least the X-E2 I have been using a lot now: as soon as the battery symbol turns red you better get ready fairly soon to replace the battery by a charged one. And it feels slow. For my wild life shots I don't want to miss the Canon. But hey, these are simple pros and cons of two fully different camera types. The clue is to have the right gear available when needed and to know how to use it right. Still working on it, too. Let's keep practicing!
DeleteAccording to the tests I read the X-T1 is supposed to be as fast as any SLR, but I could not check that out myself yet (the X-E1 indeed is very slow in focussing, probably even slower than the X-E2). Looking forward to your pictures, too!

ReplyDeleteHappy New Year you two and congrats on the new camera. This would be my choice for a new camera as well. I checked into new cameras a few weeks ago. Awesome specs. I am sure you will have a lot of fun with it. Now you got a new camera, Sonja should get a FAT BIKE :-)
ReplyDeleteI think we can all agree that a bike is still a different price class than a camera?! But indeed, she has her Harley at the shop right now for some more improvements, and the down payment alone matches the full price of my camera. So she has got a good deal, as always!
