We decided to walk a bit uphills, made our trophy shot and moved on. There must have been a speck on the lens. We haven't seen the monster...
Today's program would offer us another highlight of the Highlands: The Isle of Skye, the largest island of the Inner Hebrides, before we would get to our next overnighter in Fort William.
Eilean Donan Castle was built in the 13th century on a small island in Loch Duich, and connected to the mainland by a footbridge.
There can only be one!
One could probably spend a full day on location and just watch the light change. No surprise that it is likely one of the most photographed motives in Scotland.
Sligachan Bridge
Kilt Rock Waterfall
Shortly after arrival at our new 'home' for the next two days, the Fassfern Guesthouse, you could find somebody sipping at a glas of Rose, and nibbling away a salami sandwich while enjoying the sunset.Another great day in Scotland. Who said it would rain all summer? All we got so far was a bit drizzle.
even more beautiful pictures....Scotland is now definitely on the bucket list for me! Great stuff Sonja!

Dom, we are glad to hear you feel inspired.
DeleteI always forget, which side of Scotland hosts the mosquito olympics?
ReplyDeleteIt had't started when we were around but I believe it is a discipline of the highland games.
DeleteOooh it looks like you had some brilliant sunshine.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pictures. The ones of the footbridge and castle are my favorite. I wish I had a moat around our house, lol.
Who wouldn't want to have a moat sometimes?
DeleteBob, you are absolutely right, maybe that's why Scottish settlers must have felt right at home when landing in Newfoundland.
ReplyDeleteI believe they made up the story with Nessie. I am afraid it has moved on long ago...
