Baden-Baden is a city of many faces, from early Roman influence to French savoir vivre. Exemplary in its cleanliness, and rich with culture and architectural gems. In case you haven't noticed just yet... we really love this town.
Of course we walked, no make that promenaded down Lichtentaler Allee and through the parks, as well as through the city's pedestrian zone. We had an exquisit lunch at the Atlantic Park Hotel (yet again) and stopped for real brewed coffee at a lovely recently opened roasting house / cafe in a side street. After, we visited the 2000 years old Roman Bath ruins underneath the city. No photography allowed, but no less interesting. Life is good!
oh what wonderful pictures. this town seems to be a real beauty, unfortunately we've never been there yet. i do really love this type of old history and i'll bet the ruins must have been a nice spot to visit.

Martha and I visited Baden Baden during our trip through the area oh so many years ago; the only thing I recall was walking the length of the town to the to the baths, only to find out we were reading the map upside down and were instead walking away from them!

I'm having difficulty fully appreciating not only the age of this area but also how well it's been and being taken care of. The likelihood of our getting there is slight; thanks so much for bringing so much of it to us!!
